Arlene Kearns was born December 17, 1962, the 8th of 10 children in Pinehurst, NC. She was raised in a small community where almost everybody was family. Eastwood has a rich history and culture; hence, one of her first publications was Tales of Eastwood, and after many requests for more, She published More Tales of Eastwood. As a child, Arlene was inquisitive and wanted to know everything, so she learned to read at age 4. Her love of reading led her to want to share his love with others and help others realize how reading "gives you the world at your fingertips!"She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intermediate Education and became a Language Arts teacher for middle school teaching English, Writing, Reading and Speaking. She has traveled extensively around the world and speaks some French and Spanish but is more comfortable with Spanish. She continued her education to earn a Master's degree in Education: Leadership and Administration. She also has a doctoral degree in Missions and Evangelism, enriching her spiritual gift of evangelism. Dr. Dowdy is a virtual education enhancement tutor as well as a writer. She and her husband met when they were youth under the age of 18, and after being separated for 38 years, Clay searched, found, and reclaimed his love. He found her in 2006; they reunited, became engaged, and married in 2012. They now live in love and bliss near the farmlands of New Jersey. They have had their better and were forced to live their "for worse" when Dr. Dowdy suffered a stroke in 2021. Having triumphed over that, they are headed toward their BEST!
